Saturday Mail

Snail mail is quickly becoming irrelevant given the reliance on email and wireless. While the US Postal Service is still relied on to deliver important stuff like junk mail and bills, its surprising that Saturday home delivery of mail persists. What's the logic or merit in home delivery on Saturday? It doesn't seem to me that it serves much purpose. Given the dire state of the Federal budget and the ever increasing cost of home delivery, we should eliminate Saturday home delivery of mail post haste. Special deliveries on Saturday can continue for important stuff but why do we keep throwing money away for a service that has outlived its usefulness? Politics is one sure reason but the list is fairly short after that.
